Mangala Game

Whenever you go to Salat city in Jordan, you will find old people who are playing with a game called Mangala, what is the story of this game, and where this game come from :

Mangala game has old Egyptian root, where it was found a wooden tablet in Luxor city and the history of this game goes back to 1400 BC. This game did spread in the (medial east, turkey, and central Asia), the name of the game comes from (Naqal) which means moves in Arabic, this game in a wooden tablet that contains 14 holes, every player have 49 stones and 7 holes, and the winner who collects more stones .

The Mangla game came to Jordan through Syria and most of the wooden tablet come from there. the elderly people come in the early morning and they leave at an afternoon every day, Every year there is a contest for Mangala game in order to keep this game going to Salt city. References:
